How can you become involved?

The International Visitor’s Council of Detroit has many opportunities for volunteering, networking and participating.

1.  Share information about your work as a professional host by meeting with visitors from around the world.  Our global visitors come to our country to learn about how we do business, your background and experience helps these visitors get a first hand idea of a certain topic and/or industry.

2.  Exchange ideas by hosting or attending dinners with international visitors.  Our visitors usually have spent quite a bit of time at hotels and dinner hospitality with an American family, friends and guests is always one of their trip highlights.

3.  Offer a homestay experience in your home.  By opening your home to our international visitors for only a weekend or some groups stay up to  a month, you and your family will learn about different cultures, offer insight into your own culture and build lasting friendships

4.  Volunteer to help plan or work at one of our upcoming events (dinners, networking events, annual gala, fundraising auction and more)

5.  Volunteer as a driver to help get visitors to meetings, while enriching their experience in Detroit

6.  Recruit volunteers and dontations for the International Visitor’s Council so we are able to continue our mission of Citizen Diplomacy.
